Poplar HARCA is a ground breaking housing and regeneration association based in the heart of London’s vibrant East End; and a stone’s throw away from Canary Wharf. We manage 10,000 homes, have a renowned development programme and create opportunities that realise the potential of our community.

Our Repairs team is looking for a Senior Building Surveyor to manage all building surveying related activities on a defined patch. The successful applicant will work as a team to ensure that all properties are safe, warm, dry and comply with requirements. They will deliver a fast, efficient, value for money repair service that achieves consistently high levels of resident satisfaction. 

The postholder's responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring stock condition and recommending improvements.
  • Leading and managing Poplar HARCA’s aids and adaptation programme (portfolio responsibility).
  • Supervising contractors and the co-ordinating multiple trades
  •  Maintaining, updating and improving Poplar HARCA’s asset database
  • Dealing with, and responding to, all repair related enquiries, correspondence and complaints
  • Undertaking of full feasibility studies, option appraisals and budget estimate
  • Providing technical advice, support and practical assistance to the Repairs Team, Asset Compliance Team and Asset Investment Team and other Poplar HARCA staff
