Poplar HARCA is an award-winning housing and regeneration organisation with a national reputation for innovative urban and social regeneration.

Spotlight is a creative youth service designed to inspire. It has been shaped by young people, for young people. It offers free, state of the art sound, film, design, art and broadcasting facilities, alongside performance, dance, boxing, fashion, styling and chill areas. Spotlight supports and inspires young people to reach their full potential.

The Operations Manager will have full responsibility for ensuring Spotlight is able to meet the needs of young people through the effective management of all operational activities including finance, fundraising, monitoring & evaluation, procurement, health & safety, safeguarding, building management, compliance, programming, partnerships and communications.

Postholder's Responsibilities:

  • To be part of the leadership team at Spotlight to work strategically to improve outcomes for young people through the development of forward-thinking services for young people.
  • Oversight of the overall programme of innovative, world class youth services and events in spotlight and across the network of satellite sites in line with Spotlight ethos and Values
  • To lead the delivery of all operational functions in partnership with Poplar HARCA’s finance, PaD, comms and IT teams.
  • To lead on partnerships with organisations and departments who work with Spotlight including being the lead for key relationships with funders
  • To ensure Spotlight meets all health & safety, safeguarding and building compliance requirements.

Due to the nature of this post, employment in this role is dependent on an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. In addition, you will also be checked against the Children’s Barred List.
